It’s amazing how life takes so many turns

Chasing after the desires that make my heart yearn

It’s especially challenging when there’s so much to learn

And all the newness of feelings makes your heart churn

Protecting yourself from what might get you burned

I guess you’ll never experience it if you continue to stay stern

So thinking of times that we’ve shared

Reflecting on times I showed that I cared

Might make this easier so please don’t be scared

I’m here to be your friend, but your heart must be prepared

Let’s start with the times I’ve come over for dinner

Accepting me just as I am – just another sinner

Catching glimpses of each others eyes

Pondering the outcomes of life’s little surprise

Is he really special or just another guy?

Looks like I might have to give him a try

The next thing that comes to my head

Is when he was an hour and a half late, when I see him he’s dead

I could never do that when I see him I’ll hug him instead

Come on, hurry up, let’s go to dinner and get this boy fed

The brisk night air makes a great time out on the beach

It’s really the first time that our hands were in reach

As we hunted for sand dollars – you’re so fun to teach

We took a few home, enough for two each

Then we made plans to out to the big screen

So I got ready again, all fresh and clean

We went to the big theaters and met with some teens

Little did I know the movie was full of screams

So here we are today, wondering where things will go

I have no idea what’s happening only God knows

My day is settling down and my eyes are beginning to close

I’ll be dreaming of you and your beauty that resembles a rose
